Equine Studies Major

In 2001, an extramural paper (distance learning) "Introduction to Equine Nutrition and Health" was offered by Massey University for the first time. Nearly 100 students enrolled, which highlights the amount of interest in equine education at this level. Read more about this paper.

From 2002 Massey University will offer an Equine Studies major in the Bachelor of Applied Science degree. The Equine Studies major will prepare you for entry into a career in a large variety of equine enterprises, both in New Zealand and internationally. You will acquire a broad understanding of health and production issues, and will be able to offer the equine industry up-to-date and scientifically based knowledge.

The degree structure for the Equine Studies major is now complete and a number of papers are available both as internal and extramural options. Read more about this exciting development here.
